Sin spoils everything. It loves and lives in darkness. It is a destructive, dirty, a loathsome disease, and it is deadly. Sin is man’s main problem. The Story of Naaman is a picture of one man’s salvation and deliverance from leprosy, God’s metaphor for sin. It is also evidence and witness to the love of God for all, which includes a Syrian General. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believed in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Naaman didn’t like the message or the
preacher, and stormed out of the meeting,
dragging his leprosy with him. Thank God,
he had second thoughts and returned to
follow the little light he had been given.
After he plunged into the river’s water
seven times, he arose cleansed. God says,
Come now, let us reason together, though
your sins be as scarlet, they shall be a white
as snow….

Dear Lord, Help people to know that without you we are lost. Help us to believe you want the best for us. Help people to see that you loved us so much that you sent your Son, the Lord Jesus, to seek and to save those who are lost. We know that politics, religion, in blind hatred rejected Him. You said, "Come now, let us reason together, though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow." Help people to see that "the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God." Help us love our neighbor as ourself. Help us to listen, Help the blind to see, the deaf to hear, the proud to be humbled. Bring us a Great Awakening!
