Seeker

I seek for a kingdom, more than mind or imagination,
 I need a faith not of my own creation.
I know I'm called to live by faith and not by sight,
But I need a new assurance of thy might.

 John questioned from a damp and lonely cell
If he were right or wrong, things were not well.
You sent him word his faith was not misplaced
His doubts were not ignored, his querry graced.

 I cannot trust alone in signs of wonder,
for even Peter sank and slipped deep under
the waves when you were not the object of his eye;
Yet you were faithful ever to his cry.

  I am no better than he or doubting John,
And I, like Peter, sink and cry alarm.
Have you not some kind word for me
For I also Lord have left all for thee

  And this thy kindly Word I find
in thy Bible, Peace of Mind.
