"Though the fig tree shall not blossom"

(musing on Habakkuk 3:17-18)

When people disappoint thee
Or the crop you planted failed
The ship you sent was lost at sea
As into a storm it sailed.
When the dream you dreamed was stillborn
Or the reinforcements never came
You're at the grave of wishes mourned
And you walked like Jacob lame
Know God does all to bless thee
when we are most weak—we’re strong
God’s hands of grace caress thee
vine and branch to Him belong. -id
