Persecution

The persecution now begins
if we do not endorse
the very thing that God calls sins
and go against the course.
Or chose when we will dance and sing,
or call a wrong thing right,
or gifts  to pagan altars bring,
or call the darkness light.
A pinch of incense in the flame
is all that Caesar asked
to nod before his lofty name
for saints too great a task.
The early church to beasts were fed
or burned or torn asunder
if the world hated Christ,
our Lord, our Head
if us too, is it any wonder? id
