Seek Him

"He that cometh to God, must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." (Hebrews 11:6)

“Diligently seek Him.” The Bible is the Him Book that helps us do just that.  Life is all about finding Him, knowing Him, serving Him and enjoying Him forever.  Nothing is more important. The Bible is the story of how man got lost, lost his way, lost his goal and lost his soul.
He that cometh to God, must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
“Seek Him.”  On the one hand, the Bible says that “there is none that seeketh after God” (Rom. 3:11). That is speaking of sin’s insanity.  Sin, like a fever, can and does make men delirious.  Sin is sick and sin is crazy, but a crazy person is the last person to know he’s “nuts”.  For Adam to give up fellowship and friendship with God for a bite of an apple (or whatever it was) was not worth it. It was madness.   One day Moses came to his senses and then the Bible says that he would rather “suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season.” To the world, that looked crazy, but Moses knew that “He that cometh to God, must believe that [God] is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

Once, in the middle of a trial, and in the depths of despair, Job cried out “Oh, that I might know where to find Him…” (Job 23:3). God gave us the “Him” Book to help us find Him.  Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. God told the Jeremiah “Ye shall seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.”

Man’s heart (the original search engine) was damaged in the fall, but if that damaged heart become a broken and contrite heart, then God draws near; and by Grace through faith it can become new. –id

I didn’t think to seek Him
although I lost my way
I never thought to read His Word
and never thought to pray
But then I came up to the brink
and saw all sin had done
and by Grace began to think
why God had sent His Son
He came to seek and save me
from myself and from my sin
a new creature He has made me
with a new heart to seek HIM. -id
